NORDA Dynamics Raises $1M to Scale GPS-Free Autonomous Drones
The Lviv-based startup develops autonomous drone systems that operate without GPS or comms, now expanding with new funding led by Sweden’s Varangians.

KYIV, Ukraine — 22 September 2025
Ukraine’s NORDA Dynamics has raised $1 million to expand its engineering team and advance autonomous control systems for drones that function without GPS or traditional communications in electronic warfare conditions.
The round was led by Sweden’s Varangians, with participation from Angel One, MITS Capital, United Angels Network, and Unpopular Ventures, according to the company’s official announcement. Founded in 2024 and based in Lviv, NORDA builds autonomy modules and stabilization systems that allow drones to complete missions without operator control. The company's systems are integrated with dozens of Ukrainian drone manufacturers..
In its announcement, the company wrote that it develops “autonomous control systems for drones that operate without GPS, traditional comms, or in fully jammed enemy-controlled environments,” adding that “all our solutions are battle-tested and deployed at scale across the front line.”
Two products have been publicly highlighted. Underdog is described by the company as “the most widely used auto-targeting module at the front,” designed to be GPS-agnostic and easily deployable across multiple flight controllers. StableLink is an optical stabilization system that maintains precise azimuth and altitude control in GPS-denied and EW-heavy environments.
"We were among the first in the world to scale autonomy modules to tens of thousands of combat deployments in modern warfare, and now we are ready for the next stage," said Nazar Bihun, NORDA Dynamics' co-founder and CEO. "For us, this is not just about capital, but a validation that our battlefield-proven technologies have a global future across European and overseas markets."
NORDA says the new capital will fund intensive R&D, expanded testing, and hiring to meet rising battlefield demand. The company also thanked Brave1, IRON Cluster, and the Lviv City Council for supporting Ukraine’s defense-tech ecosystem.
As electronic warfare increasingly defines modern combat, Ukraine has become a proving ground for autonomous drone technology, where loss of GPS or communication links is the rule, not the exception. NORDA’s systems are designed to sustain control and precision in those conditions, offering a glimpse into the future of unmanned operations worldwide.
Varangians, a Swedish investment firm launched in 2025, led the round as part of its strategy to support Ukraine's defense-technology sector and Europe's broader rearmament through Ukrainian innovation. "NORDA's team is among the very best," said Pär Lager, CEO of Varangians. "They are addressing one of the most critical challenges on the battlefield and have the expertise to continue developing innovative solutions."
Angel One, MITS Capital, United Angels Network, and Unpopular Ventures joined from Ukraine and the United States. "We have been impressed by NORDA Dynamics' rapid progress since graduating from our accelerator program," said Denys Gurak, co-founder and CIO/COO of MITS Capital. "The founders have a technological vision that supports Ukraine's victory in the drone war, and we are proud to back them."
According to public company data, NORDA reported about $250,000 in revenue in 2024 and projects $1.4 million in 2025, selling roughly 50,000 software licenses for its autonomy modules.
The funding places NORDA among a new wave of Ukrainian defense-tech startups turning battlefield necessity into scalable innovation, combining engineering pragmatism with the urgency of real-world deployment.
